Sony WM-BF64 Opening the Back Cover

In order to open the WM-BF64 back cover, the service manual suggests that you remove the cassette door to gain access inside the cassette compartment that houses a slot with a locking claw. They suggest inserting something into the slot to unlock the claw. However, it does not show how to remove the lid, but simply shows a hand pulling the lid apart. I am sure many "experts" would use force and end up breaking the cassette compartment hinge; therefore, I was reluctant to do that. Instead, I decided to use thin strips of plastic credit card to wedge into the back seam where the locking claws were and managed to open the back cover that way. Once the back claws disengage, the back cover comes off easily. With the photographs shown here, you can see exactly where the locking claws are. Therefore, it is possible to use this information to open the back cover without dismantling the front cassette door.
