Sony WM-EX23 Removing the Back Cover

The WM-EX23 back cover has locking tabs all around the edges and this photograph shows where they are. You will need to cut thin strips of plastic and wedge them in where the tabs are. There are also two hidden tabs near the battery compartment, which reappear in the cassette compartment. You will need to use a screwdriver to unlock these as well; otherwise, the cover will not separate.

The back cover also has a spring mechanism, which the cassette compartment door uses.
