JVC AX-V4 Back Connections
The AX-V4 (also known as AX-V4BK), has a large number of sockets for connecting other hi-fi equipment. It has a phono input for connecting record players, and tuner input for connecting your favourite tuner unit. Notice that this unit has an additional power switch at the back, and if it is in the OFF position, then the front power switch will not be able to switch ON the amp. Many people often forget about this switch and assume that their amplifier is broken.
COMPU LINK, also known as COMPU LINK SNYCHRO, is a serial communication system used by the JVC Corporation to enable a single remote control unit to control all the components in the stack system. This communication occurs over a pair of wires terminated by 3.5 mm mono jack plugs. The purpose behind this was to allow a single remote control to control all the individual component units in the stack system. It also provided source selection services between the component unit and the main amplifier/receiver, so that the input source on the amplifier was automatically set, when switching ON any particular component unit.
In this type of system, there is only one remote control unit, and one infrared sensor on the amplifier/receiver, whilst the rest of the component units receive command signals through the Compu Link system of wires.
