Sharp SA-606H Amplifier Stage

Amplifier Circuit

The Sharp SA-606H amplifier heatsink is a simple angled piece of aluminium, with a neat array of power transistors mounted on them forming the power amplifier stage. A nice design feature is that the power amplifier board is completely separate as you can see. Usually, these amplifiers gather a thick layer of dust; however, this is how it appears after some vacuuming. In this article, you can see the 2SC1060 power transistor. Interestingly, their terminals pass through the holes in the heatsink. It was surprising to find that the electrolytic capacitors were still going strong providing efficient smoothing. The amplifier board has presets for setting the bias, which is very useful in these amplifier designs.
