NH-14WM Battery

The NH-14WM(A) is a rechargeable gumstick battery manufactured by the Sony Corporation. It is usually used in Sony portable audio such as MiniDiscs, and Walkmans. It is a 1.2 V nickel-metal hydride (Ni-MH) battery, with 1350 mAh capacity (minimum). It requires a special charger, or in some Sony models of Walkman, can charge in-situ. Some of the cheap modern replacements are usually 1450 mAh in capacity and non-branded.

In the Sony D-NE1, a pair of these batteries is required in the battery compartment located within the CD compartment.

Price/eBay

Replacement batteries are usually available at auction sites and can cost less than three pounds and come all the way from China. The very cheap ones are usually non-branded, generic, ones and they do not always have the stated capacity so be careful when buying.
