Prinztronic Asset Power Supply

The PRINZTRONIC ASSET uses four AA size dry cells in the battery compartment. Optionally, a mains adapter may power it, through the external socket. It would have to provide +6 V DC.

Battery Compartment

Inside the battery compartment, there is a rectangular cut-out for a slide-switch. There is an arrow pointing up marked "UM-3 Batt" and an arrow pointing down marked "Rech Batt". This suggests that they made other versions with a rechargeable battery option. The power consumption is 0.2 W and the batteries did not last long. Therefore, a rechargeable battery version would have been very popular.

Power Socket

A mains adapter providing 6 V DC should be sufficient to power the calculator using this socket. This calculator uses the Mannics dc-dc power module to generate higher voltages. This is a very sensitive and delicate piece of electronic engineering, and if you damage it, you will not be able to find a replacement. Therefore, I would not recommend powering this calculator using a mains adapter.
