These cameras were very robust, and providing the heads are fine, they usually have some useful life left. In this particular camera, the viewfinder display was very poor due to the accumulation of dust particles and hair in the viewfinder assembly. Fortunately, the manufacturers have provided a way to gain access to the internal mirror and lens for cleaning.

The moisture indicator on the LCD usually flashes when moisture has condensed on the head drum. The manual advises to remove the tape, and wait until the moisture has evaporated.
