Sony CCD-V8AF-E Review
The Sony CCD-V8AF-E video camera has some value today because of the built-in cassette recorder that plays and records Video 8 tapes. It has sockets for both input and output of audio and video.
Back in the 80s, television screens were not so large and therefore the resolution was adequate, but with modern 40-inch displays, the image is fuzzy, however you can always up-scale if you have such a facility.
A conventional cathode ray tube (CRT) forms the viewfinder image. It is an extremely tiny tube component, which displays a monochrome flickering image. If you have become accustomed to large colour LCD displays then you will probably hate it. However, this camera could be useful to cover an additional camera angle in an event. You simply leave it in a fixed focus mode pointing in one direction, and it can capture interesting moments that you can edit into your master tape.
It has this wonderful boom microphone at the front, which is very sensitive, for recording in mono.
