Voltmeter Kit Probes

This voltmeter comes with a pair of crocodile clips for use as the probes when measuring voltages. The constructer will have to solder the wires to the crocodile clips, and therefore you will need to remove the plastic covering and feed it through the wire, so you can slide it back on, when the soldering is complete. As you can see, you will require pliers to bend the metal strips that secure the wire. The constructor should then feed a small amount of stripped wire through the hole and solder on the other side, covering the hole. Then slide the plastic boot back on to cover the clips.

If you wired the probes and their socket correctly as shown in this article, then you can test the meter by using a PP3 9 V battery by connecting the probes, and the switch in the correct position. As you can see, it should give a reading for the measured voltage.
