Sennheiser HD-202
The HD-202 was a closed, dynamic, hi-fi stereo headphone, manufactured by the Sennheiser Corporation. It was a professional over-the-ear studio monitor headphone for DJs. It used supra-aural ear coupling techniques, and 40 mm drivers with lightweight diaphragm to produce extremely low bass. Consequently, it is ideal for those who like modern music with low powerful bass, because the frequency response is 18 Hz to 18 kHz (-3 dB/1 kHz). I just recently bought these cheap in the pre-used market because one channel was not working, as the cable needed repair. I was able to disassemble them for repair and this article might help anyone changing the ear pads, or repairing the cable.

Review
These are an interesting pair of headphones because their lower end of frequency response is 18 Hz, which is just slightly less than the standard 20 Hz, hence, the perceived bass is much deeper due to the supra-aural ear coupling, and the engineering design of the cups. The sound quality is extremely good due to the 32 Ω coil producing a high definition sound, and surprisingly, it is loud. The powerful neodymium magnet and lightweight diaphragm employed in the drivers also add much to the sound quality, and it is noticeable in this design. These headphones are extremely comfortable to wear due to the 130 g lightweight and ergonomic design of the headband. The connecting wire is 3 m OFC copper cable, which comes with a belt-clip secured winder to store the excess wire.
This design uses a much simpler method for removing the ear pads for cleaning or service. The foam ear pads fit onto an oval shaped plastic panel onto which a filter also mounts. This plastic panel then attaches onto the cups making a popping sound as the plastic tabs engage. The following pages of this multi-page article shows the mechanisms involved when I took one apart for repair.
Price/eBay
These are the earlier ones in the HD series and gained a huge following, consequently people are always looking for a replacement set in the pre-used market. A good working set in mint condition can sell for well over fifty pounds and more depending upon the day. People are always looking for replacement parts, so if you have a broken one, then it is always good to sell it as it can fetch a few pounds on a good day.
