Razer Kraken USB Repairing Broken Headband

Broken Headband

The extendible part of the Razer Kraken USB headband is made of plastic and therefore care has to be taken to ensure it does not break. On my pre-used headset one side was broken probably due to heavy-handedness and therefore I was tempted to remove it completely to see if it could be repaired. In order to remove the extendible part from the headband the trick is to roll back the outer cover that goes over the headband. This is because under this cover, there is a secret hatch secured by two screws. Behind this hatch, you can gain access to the retaining mechanism that prevents the extendible part from sliding out completely.

The good side looks like this.

Hatch Screws
Sliding Mechanism
Sliding Retainer

As you can see, the extendible part of the headband is integrated with the cup and forms a single piece.
