Gakken EX-System Denshi Blocks

Denshi Blocks

Whether it is an EX-60, EX-100, or EX-150, the Gakken EX-System uses denshi blocks, which was an earlier invention we saw on the Denshi Board SR3A. The EX-System denshi blocks are slightly different where the connecting terminals are concerned. However, the principle of encapsulating an electronic component within a plastic cube shaped container remains the same.

Obviously, the more denshi blocks your EX-System has, the more experimental circuits you can construct, and the manufacturers cleverly included upgrade paths for all three. With the addition of upgrade parts, the EX-60 and EX-100 packages could become identical to the EX-150. Interestingly, Denshi blocks were not all the same size, and there were larger blocks, available as accessories, that occupied multiple cubic slots.
