DT830D Circuit Board

The DT830D circuit board is a double-sided one, and on the reverse side are the selector switch contacts. This type of construction is very low cost and often turns out to be more reliable in the end. Many manufacturers of high-end meters use this method of construction.

The probe socket arrangement is very similar to the earlier model. This little part of the PCB projects out to hold the sockets. On my meter, a little plastic tab, which secures this part, was broken. Consequently, when I pushed the probe plugs in, it was not connecting, because the strip was bending away.
