Nokia Lumia 720 Hard Reset, Soft Reset, and Factory Reset

If your phone is frozen, or locked up, then you need to perform a reset operation on it. Usually a soft reset is enough to get it working again. The hard reset operation is more drastic and deletes all your personal data to restore the phone, as new from the factory.

Hard Reset or Factory Reset

The hard reset will erase all of your personal data including apps you may have bought and downloaded. It will restore the settings back to as it was when new from the factory.

Swipe down from the top of the start screen, and tap on the following options in sequence.

1. ALL SETTINGS
2. About
3. Reset your phone

Soft Reset

Press and hold the volume down key and the power key simultaneously for around ten seconds. This should have the effect of restarting the phone.
