Nokia Lumia 720 How to Remove SIM Card

The Nokia Lumia 720 has an external SIM hatch that is almost seamless and invisible to the naked eye. In order to open it, you need to have a special key supplied with the phone.

The key to open the SIM hatch is usually within the cardboard box packaging. Can you guess which it is?

Here is the Key. If you have lost your key then the manufacturers recommend using a small paper clip instead.

Opening the Hatch

Here is a highly magnified view showing the key inserted into a hole in the side of the phone. Once inserted the hatch opens. This great feature will probably become a standard in the future.

SIM Card and Tray

This phone uses a mini-UICC SIM Card, also known as, Micro SIM Card. Luckily the new cards are available FREE, and there are advantages to using the newer ones.

Installing the Holder Tray

The SIM holder tray slots inside like this. When installing or removing the SIM card you should always switch off the phone first.

Hatch Space

Here is a view of the SIM card hatch space you do not normally see.

This phone also has a similar arrangement for installing the MicroSD Memory Card. The memory card slot is on the long side of the phone with an identical hatch to the SIM card hatch.
