Bluetooth Peripheral Device
The Bluetooth peripheral device error usually occurs when you select your Bluetooth speaker device. When Microsoft Windows fails to find the necessary drivers for the device, it places a yellow exclamation mark next to the device. In this example, I was connecting to JQ-BT, which was my cheap Chinese Bluetooth Speaker. As you can see, Windows 7 recognises it as a headset, even though it is a speaker.
Microsoft Windows takes ownership of installing the peripheral drivers but does not find them.
In the properties window, you can see that the Bluetooth CSR 4.0 Dongle is working. It has successfully identified two Bluetooth services that the speaker is broadcasting. One service is supposed to be the Audio Sink, and the other is the Remote Control, because the speaker also has a remote control facility. What we should be seeing in the list are the HID-compliant device functions.
