Sony Clie PEG-T625C Jog Dial

The Sony Clie had a wonderful jog dial feature that allowed the user to perform all the major operations without a stylus using only one hand thereby making it an ideal gadget for use during travel. One navigates by rotating the dial clockwise or counter-clockwise, and pressing the dial IN selects the item for highlighting, or launches an application. Advanced users could also press and rotate simultaneously after they acquire the skill.

They designed the jog-dial feature such that it would be easy to replace the component; hence, it has a separate hatch, and a ribbon cable that terminates with a plug/socket arrangement.
