Bush PSR358 Tape Transport
The Bush PSR358 tape transport mechanism is reliable and well fabricated from plastic. Using compression springs for the pushbutton selector is unusual, but works extremely well. I managed to buy one of these players with a missing spring, and used a spring from a pen, which worked well.
Components
The tape transport components are plastic, and seem to work well. This looks like quite a reliable design for pulling the tape.
Tape Path
The tape path, capstan, and pinch roller, seem to work fine on this player.
Audio Head
The EX12 audio head is a standard design that one would find in almost any stereo cassette player of the same period.
DC Motor
This is the motor, which seems to work quite well. With the lack of a heavy capstan flywheel, it all rests upon the motor to provide a smooth and constant speed.
