Crown SZ-31 Battery Compartment

The Crown SZ-31 operates on two "AA" size dry cells. I installed a pair of cheap batteries from a thrift store and they lasted approximately three hours at moderate volume level, which is very good. This must be due to the improvements made by Mitsumi to the audio IC and motor. This player does not have a power socket to draw power from an external adapter, but that is fine as very few people use this option.
