Crown SZ-31 inside View

The Crown SZ-31 has an extremely neat construction. It uses the Mitsumi single chip solution for stereo cassette players, and consequently the component count is very low. This unit uses a conventional DC motor regulated by the IC, and the tape speed is very smooth. The tape transport mechanism is on a small metal chassis, together with the metal push-button assembly. This unit has dual drive belts, one for the capstan flywheel and another for the tape-winding spool. They should remain clean and free of dust for proper operation.
