Panasonic RQ-SX75 Drive Belts

The Panasonic RQ-SX75 has two drive belts below the main board. In this unit, one has to desolder the main board in order to remove it and gain access to the belts underneath. In this design, there are two flywheels, and each has dedicated belts known as capstan belt 1, and capstan belt 2.

This flywheel is for capstan belt 2, and if your unit does not have a belt there then chances are that it has snapped.

This flywheel is for capstan belt 1, and if your unit does not have a belt there then chances are that it has snapped. This type of visual inspection is usually a good idea to determine if the belts need replacing. However sometimes the belts may be in place but may have stretched and therefore will still require changing.
