Sony STR-DE485 Inside Look

The STR-DE485 has modular design making it easier for electronic engineers to repair it. The vertical board on the side converts the digital inputs into Dolby Surround Sound. The small metal box is the RDS tuner module that provides AM/FM radio coverage. As you can see, the unit has a large passive heatsink for the audio power amplifier circuit.
