Installing BG9 Socket

BG9 Socket Pin Alignment

In order to install the 9-pin BG9 valve socket to the screw-cup system, I first drew a template on a piece of paper to help me determine the spacing of the screws so that they align with the socket pins. Essentially, we want to divide a circle into nine parts. Luckily, 360° divided by 9 is exactly 40°, therefore, I used a protractor and marked out every 40°.

Pin Extension

I cut small pieces of wire and soldered them to the base as shown. The wire is a slightly thicker one to hold the base firmly. After soldering the wires, it occurred to me that a simpler method would have been to solder eyelet terminals, where the eyelet part could be screwed under the cup.
