Sony MDR-V150 Repair

It is possible to repair a Sony MDR-V150 up to a certain point. It is certainly possible to replace the ear-pads, as replacements pads are readily and cheaply available. It is also possible to replace the jack socket if it has intermittent connections; however, authentic Sony drive units are difficult to source or replace. I managed to find generic 30 mm drive units on the auction site and they worked fairly well. In this article, all the photographs are of parts from the Sony headphones.

The driver fits into the special holder that protects it from external stresses.

The holder fits into the front panel, which is also responsible for securing the ear-pad.
