Samwa YX-1000A Range Switch Mechanism

The range switch mechanism is simple utilising the reverse side of the printed circuit board for the electrical contacts. On my meter, the switch was making intermittent connections, however after cleaning the pads with some electrical contact cleaner there was a dramatic improvement.

Overall, the switch works extremely well and there is a spring-loaded ball bearing, which keeps it locked in position.

On this side of the printed circuit board, you can see the surface-mount device (SMD) resistors. The soldering and build appear to be clean.
