MS-132BT
The MS-132BT is a mobile multimedia speaker, which plays MP3 audio stored in a USB memory stick or microSD (TF) memory card. There is no speaker manual and therefore this multi-page article might help if you are looking for instructions. As well as a basic FM radio, and rechargeable battery, it also has Bluetooth functionality to enable mobile phones to stream audio through it. It is very similar to the MS-130BT, and MS-131BT, which have different cosmetic designs. I have no doubts that there will also be MS-133 and MS-134 in the future as well. For the MS-132, the manufacturers have provided an auxiliary input capability through a 3.5 mm jack socket so one can connect a PC, laptop, or Walkman-type device with a compatible jack plug wire. With only four buttons, it is simple to operate.
The construction consists of 15 cm high and 13 cm wide enclosure, with a 4-inch diameter loudspeaker inside. The front part with the speaker grille and button controls is plastic, which screws onto the wooden box part. The thickness of the wood is approximately 4 mm, resembling hardboard-type material.
The mode switch appears to cycle through various inputs, including USB, AUX, Bluetooth, and FM radio. The volume buttons also double for back-skip and forward-skip functions. For the volume setting, a long duration press is required; however, for track skip a short duration press is required. There does not appear to be any way to switch off the multi-coloured LED flashing, unless one opens the unit and disconnects the LED wire. However, if you do that, then you void the warranty, so be warned!
This unit also has a built-in lithium battery stuck to the wooden enclosure. My unit had a 1000-mAh capacity battery, which seems to last many hours.
Price/eBay
These are often for sale on eBay and mine cost eight pounds including postage, which was the cheapest I could find at that time. The price can vary a lot and go as high as fifteen pounds or more through other sellers. This is a multi-page article and if you wish to see the inside construction and my modifications then the pages below show that.
