Sanyo M4440 Mechanism

The Sanyo M4440 has an extremely well engineered tape drive mechanism with precision-engineered metal parts. The laser-cut metal components with a glossy black finish mount on a die cast metal chassis. The push-button assembly is metal and very reliable. There is also a brass flywheel for the capstan. There is a second drive belt connecting to the underside of the flywheel, which is for the take-up spool, and the third drive belt is for the counter module.

Counter Belt

Auto Stop Mechanism

This shows the clutch mechanism for the take-up spool and the auto shut-off mechanism.
