Sony WM-FX290 Tape Transport

The Sony WM-FX290 has a very simple tape transport mechanism because of the lack of auto reverse function. However, it works extremely well as the pushbutton selector has metal components.

Tape Deck

The cassette compartment is very basic due to this model not having auto reverse. There are no tape sensor switches either.

Audio Head

Here is a close-up of the audio head, which has a good dynamic range.
