Toshiba KT-S1 Case

The Toshiba KT-S1 case is plastic; however, it is a high quality construction and manufacture. An unscratched one would appear very smart.

Controls

There is great attention to detail in the design of the case. This simple box design is the most effective and elegant compared to the awful modern designs of the 1990s and 2000s that emerged.

Lid Hinge

The cassette lid hinge is a very simple design that works very well. I have seen some Sony Walkmans that are more modern but the hinges have failed.

This shows the underside where the hinge connects.

Made in Japan

The marking shows the model number, and the location of manufacturing which is Japan.

Volume Slider

Internally the volume sliders are independent; however, the outer plastic control strip shown above moves both of them simultaneously. It is an interesting design though.
