The Sony STR 242L has a nicely designed printed circuit board (PCB). It is a single layer single sided PCB that is extremely high quality.

Students tend to think that SMD technology is something new, but here is an early example of it. In 1980s, this is how Sony managed to miniaturise components.

Back when Akio Morita was the CEO of Sony, they were always inventing something new. Much of the electronic technology we use today was due to his leadership and ingenuity.
