Tuner Side

Tuner Section

A small panel mounted to the side of the chassis consists of the AM tuner section. There is also a band selector switch, which connects to the front lever by a blue connecting strip. This is a flexible plastic strip with a metal wire inside which slides. It uses a similar principle to bicycle break wires.

Tuner Circuit Board

Here is a close-up view of the tuner circuit board in more light.

Tuner PCB

Here is a view of the same board, but from the inside.

Tuning Control

This is a weighted tuning control together with the string.

Tuned radio circuit module.

Here is the FM radio module. As you can see the complexity of the radio circuitry was obvious, but the Japanese made it look very easy.

Here is a close-up of the radio module. This should be interesting for all of those engineers involved in designing radios.

Radio circuit.

I do not have a circuit diagram of this amplifier, however, this looks like an IF stage coil for the Phase Lock Loop.

Illuminating dial.

There is this clear plastic light guide, which illuminates the tuning dial. It has a filament bulb inside it.
