Olympus OM10 Shutter Releases during Film Advance

If the shutter automatically releases whilst winding the film using the film advance lever, then there is one thing worth checking with the mechanism under the bottom plate.

If lever "A" remains jammed in the position shown by the arrow, then the shutter will prematurely fire when advancing the film forward. The pivot of this lever has a very thin spring, which produces a very small force for the lever to return to home position. Dried grease and dirt can prevent it from moving freely, thereby causing this problem. My camera had some rust as well which prevented the lever to move freely.
