National Panasonic T-100D Radio Chassis

The design of the T-100D chassis is very reminiscent of the type found in valve radios and early radiograms, because this is where much of the design came from. The ferrite slug-tuned coils mount directly on the chassis, together with the ferrite rod and tuning capacitor. Interestingly, the ferrite rod fits at an angle, which indicates to me that the engineer was extremely knowledgeable in radio electronics.

To the uninitiated, the build quality of this radio might appear messy, but this is a hand-built radio that would have required skilled labour and much painstaking work to construct.
