Avometer Model 7 Mk2 "AA" Battery Modification

This AVO Model 7 Mk2 battery modification allows one to use the standard "AA" size batteries instead of the large "D" size cell. I decided to do this mod because the original holder was missing and a replacement holder for a "D" size battery is expensive. The "AA" size battery and holder are much cheaper and more convenient to use. For this modification, all that is required is a battery holder, which comes with soldered wires, and you simply connect the wires to the relevant terminals as shown.

I used some cut foam to secure the holder to the side of the battery box, and it is nice and snugly fitted in place.
