Olympus Trip 35 Double Exposure

Bottom Plate

The Olympus Trip 35 has a film rewind button and a tripod socket on the bottom plate. The rewind button is for rewinding the exposed film back into the cartridge.

Rewind Button

The rewind button disengages the sprocket wheels and allows the film to move freely. This is a useful feature if you wanted to take double exposures of a frame. The procedure would be to take a photo as one normally would, and advance the film to the next frame. Then press the rewind button, and use the crank handle to rewind the film back by one frame. The counter is a good indicator for aligning the frame back to the original position. Double exposures are great fun, because you could compose an image consisting of two or more objects within a single photo.
