Sony KV-36FS76U Television Speakers

The speaker had a very narrow recess space, and therefore Sony engineers would have had to design custom speakers to fit in that space. They came up with a very strange design consisting of a pair of conjoined speakers. Each speaker had a separate voice coil and magnet assembly; however, they shared the paper cone. The sound quality was below average bordering on poor, as it lacked bass and treble frequencies.

It also had a separate tweeter, which was extremely small and quiet. With the lack of bass and treble, the sound was more mid-range, which was a shame, as the amplifier chip was one of the best. The only thing good about these speakers were the shielded magnets, which protected the shadow mask in the cathode ray tube.

Narrow Speakers

As you can see, the speakers had to fit inside a very narrow recess.

Small Tweeter

This extremely small speaker was less than the size of a credit card, and was very quiet.

Bass Speaker

This television has a single bass speaker in a separate box fixed to the back cover of the case. It was very quiet and hardly made any noise.
