Sony WM-EX194 Inside
The WM-EX194 has advanced engineering, and as you can see they have minimized the use of metals and plastics, and in particular, there is the absence of screws. The transport mechanism mounts on a thin metal chassis and consists of plastic cogwheels, which are cheaper to fabricate. It is a very simple and yet high precision construction that is quite impressive.
Inside View
A single screw together with its suspension secures the printed circuit board (PCB), which makes part of the anti-rolling system. Plastic locking tabs secure the PCB and the chassis. To replace the drive belt one has to remove the PCB, or at least lift it to gain access to the motor drive components.
Power LED
This is a very efficient surface-mount device (SMD) power LED.
Motor Wires
These are the wires to the motor. It is probably safer to remove these when lifting up the PCB.
This is an ideal Walkman for the collector.
Audio Head Connection
This plastic ribbon cable connects to the audio head.
