Onikuma Model K5 Ear Pad Replacement

The ONIKUMA Model K5 ear pads can be replaced very easily due to the wonderful and imaginative system consisting of a plastic fastening ring that is first installed within the ear pad seam. The fastening ring has claws that engage and lock into the slots on the front panel, thereby securing the ear pad. The following photographs might shed some light if you need to replace your ear pads.

As you can see, the reverse of the ear pad has a seam.

This plastic fastening ring is installed into the seam first.

Install the fastening ring making sure the claws come through the pad material.

On the front panel there are slots which engage with the claws on the fastening ring.

Here is one of the slots. You need to make sure that all the slots align with the claws. They make a popping sound when locked into place.

Once the claws lock into place, the pad is secured.
