Onikuma Model K5

The ONIKUMA Model K5 is an Iron Man style professional stereo gaming headset manufactured in China. It has 50 mm drivers with superior frequency response. It has integrated LED lighting powered through the USB plug (no driver required), and a microphone. The cord has an in-line volume control and microphone switch. When I first saw these headphones I thought they could not be very good since they were so inexpensive, however just recently I managed to get a broken pair on eBay and got the chance to test them out after some repairs. The sound quality is very reminiscent of the Razer Kraken Pro, except they had 40 mm diameter drivers, whilst the Onikuma Model K5 has 50 mm drivers. Consequently, the sound is very good with extremely superior bass and treble response. After comparing them with all the other headphones that I have in my collection, these now take the top position as my favourite.

Another good thing going for these headphones is the build quality which is extremely good. The design is in the style of Iron Man, with generous amount of plastic, and large soft ear pads which cover over the entire ear. It has an extendable headband with a soft pad making it very comfortable to wear. The design is well-thought out and I especially love the system they have employed to attach the ear pads. I thought it was imaginative and progressive as it makes changing the ear pads very simple.

On the downside, I wish the inline remote had a one touch button compatible with Smartphones. However, it does sound extremely good and that is the main aspect worth considering.

Price/eBay

In time these headphones will be very popular, especially with the female persuasion, who will love the pink coloured design. It is only a matter of time before Iron Man meets Iron Woman; hence you may want to get two headsets for your other half as well. Since the sound quality is one of the best I have heard, it is only a matter of time before the price begins to rise as people realise the quality. The deal clincher has to be the lifetime warranty, 48-month replacement policy, and lifetime after sales service.
