BMC-3 Battery

The BMC-3 is a cellular phone battery. It is a 3.6 V Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack used by the Nokia 3310 mobile phone, and manufactured in the Czech Republic. The photograph of the battery shown above is the original factory fitted battery with part number 170010.

The BMC-3 is compatible with a wide range of mobile phones including the following Nokia phones.

Replacing the Battery

To replace the battery, flip over the phone and remove the back cover. The SIM card does not usually require removing; however, if it gets in the way then it is better to remove it first.

There are two plastic locking clips to the side, which require pushing apart simultaneously to release the battery.

Install the new battery ensuring that the copper contacts at the sides align properly. Then push the battery down, which snap locks the locking clips to secure it.
