Flashing the Nokia 3310
The Nokia DCT3 Flasher by Rolis writes the modified firmware file of the Nokia 3310 back into the ROM chip. Just as before, the UserPort 1.0 program is required to be running, and there is a specific sequence and checklist. Use the same checklist and preparation routine as that used in the backing up article.
Flashing
Load the flash file that you are flashing back into the phone. The file has an ".fls" extension.
Select the "3310 (NHM-5)" setting.
Press the "Yes" Button.
Press the Nokia "ON" button. This is a short duration press.
Flash erase operation starts.
Flash write operation completes.
This is the final information screen.
Exit and Restart Nokia DCT3 Flasher
Once the flash operation completes, exit the Nokia DCT3 Flasher program, and start it again. There should be a short click sound from the phone speaker upon restart. This strange quirk of the program is necessary; otherwise, you cannot switch ON the mobile phone. When the program starts, it resets the bus connections, which brings the phone out of service mode.
FAID and Reset
- Switch the mobile phone ON
- Change the jumper J1 to top position
- Connect serial cable to COM1
- Press "Update FAID"
- Press "SW Reset"
Keep your fingers crossed, and hope it works! If it works for you then please donate to the Holocaust memorial through the Donate link below.
