Grundig 1975 - 1976 Audio

Front Cover

I remember Grundig radios and cassette recorders from the 1970s, and this 1975/76 brochure is a real blast from the past. They used to have a shop in Croydon on London Road with wonderful display of their finely engineered products. Grundig is one of those European firms that always led the field in audio electronics manufacturing, and therefore all of their products were high-end and high quality.

They were one of the first to have a modularised television design so engineers could simply swap panels making servicing much easier. Their tape recorder range had long-life heads as a standard, which always made them a little better than the rest. They were also manufacturing their own custom parts and components such as loudspeakers, which made their products unique and very desirable. They made some of the best audio electronic innovations, but not very many people knew about it because it was difficult to find specifications, descriptions, or even service manuals in English. Therefore, this section will be useful for those looking to buy vintage audio in the second-hand market.

Their Radios and cassette decks from the 70s are still available at places such as eBay and they are still very desirable in the second-hand market. Unfortunately, it is very difficult to find accurate information about them and therefore this part of the site might help prospective buyers. If you found it useful, then please consider donating to the USHMM.
