Handspring Visor LCD

The Handspring Visor Deluxe has this wonderful liquid crystal display (LCD), with backlight. In this page you can see the inside electronic engineering.

When opening the back cover, one first has to unlock the LCD display ribbon cable from this socket. The brown flap part on the front of the socket is like a locking clamp that lifts UP when unlocking the ribbon cable. Be extremely careful when handling this socket as it can break easily!
