Sanyo MGR 80 Drive Belt Replacement

The MGR 80 drive belt is very simple to replace once you gain access to the mechanism. The motor pulley can accept belts thicker than 1 mm, which makes it very easy to source cheap replacements. There are many generic belts listed on Google, Amazon, and eBay.

In this design, a single belt drives two capstan flywheels, because this is an auto reverse system. As you can see, one flywheel has much less contact with the drive belt, and therefore the tension is very critical at this location.
