Sanyo MGR 80 Power Supply

Battery Compartment

The Sanyo MGR 80 is a 3 V system and requires a pair of "AA" size batteries to operate. Its power consumption is 150 mA at minimal volume on cassette playback mode. I used a pair of cheap rechargeable batteries, and they lasted approximately three hours. However, the radio continues to operate, even when there is not enough power for the cassette mode. This unit also has a power socket at the front to take 3 V DC from an external source such as a mains adapter.
