Sharp CE-152 Motor Drive
The Sharp CD-152 uses two drive belts, which are very easy to replace. I replaced my belts with generic ones that were the correct circumference and they work fine. The belts have a square cross section, and the pulleys are wide enough to take many different cross sectional sizes.
Here is a side view which shows how to install the belts around the pulleys. There is also an additional third belt, which is for the counter mechanism.
6V-12E-E Motor
This is a 6 V DC electric motor with a diameter of 25 mm, and height of 18 mm. There is an extra gap of 3 mm below the motor; hence, anything with the precise electrical parameters that fits has a good chance of working.
Motor Regulator PCB
The motor has a separate speed regulator printed circuit board, with a variable resistor preset for adjusting the speed. If you change the motor, then you will need to calibrate the speed again using this preset. The speed regulator circuit maintains the speed by regulating the voltage across the motor. The circuit design uses Zener diodes for the electrical regulation of voltage.
