uPC1350C Audio Amplifier IC

uPC1350C IC

The µPC1350C is an audio amplifier integrated circuit (IC) manufactured by the NEC Corporation in Malaysia. It consists of an audio preamplifier circuit, to amplify the signals from the audio head, and a power amplifier to drive a loudspeaker. It also has an automatic level control (ALC) circuitry, which controls the input signal level. The ALC is extremely useful in situations where a microphone input is used.

This is an interesting vintage chip, which would be difficult to find today. It has a 14-pin DIL package with a heatsink tab. It has a wide operating voltage range from 3.5 V to 10 V, with 6 V being the recommended amount, and 12 V the absolute maximum. This high-gain low distortion power amplifier provides high stability even when driven to clipping levels.

Specification

  • Low pulsing noise
  • Circuit current 500 mA
  • THD 0.8 %
  • Preamp gain 30.8 dB
